RBI MORATORIUM EXTENSION FOR 2 YEARS

On 22 May, RBI had extended the moratorium on term loans till 31 August following the reason of lockdown to Control the spread of Coronavirus. Banks and other financial institutions are permitted to provide a moratorium.

This moratorium is Considered because of petitioner Gajendra sharma had challenged the accrual of interest and argued that no interest should be charged during the moratorium because people were already facing "extreme problems and hardships" and payment of additional interest on top of regular EMI's would add to their woes.

This decision is very helpful and relaxable because due to coronavirus people have already losted their Jobs in lockdown So this is very big challenge for people's who taken loans and paying interest of the loans. In this epidemic period of Coronavirus near 12 crores of peoples lost their employment.
So this moratorium will be very helpful for peoples who taken loans.
